BioThis is my journal to chronicle my feelings about my addiction. It's taken me a long time to admit to myself that I am an addict. I had another journal, an old one, for communicating with people and maintaining friendships, but I closed it in 2005.
Please forgive me if I'm a little distant. I come here rarely, mainly just to write these thoughts down for my own future benefit and to provide myself with a separate perspective that is fully committed to being honest with my addiction. But I'll always be here at some point or another, since I'll probably always be unable to deal with alcohol properly.
Hope is a good thing. Hope is one of the only lamp posts we have to illuminate better paths away from our failures and shortcomings. I am hoping for a better life, where I do not hurt people to hide my sadness, where I can set a goal and achieve it, and share the good things in life with those I love -- without dependending on a drug that will change me into someone else.
I do appreciate broken people, because we are closer to the edge of life than others and our perspectives sometimes can be unclouded and clear because of this. Feel free to add me or just read invisibly if you want to follow the thoughts of someone who most likely feels exactly the same way that you do. I will try to not let it linger like all the other alcoholism communities I've seen on livejournal, but, well, being a drunk leads me to dwell in solitude often. I am trying to stop completely for a long time now, so hopefully the only things I'll have to say are recollections of how awful I felt, or about the different emotions and realizations I am coming to now.
